1/400 Lockheed Prop-Jet Electra L-188 with Collectors Tin (First L-188 Prototype)

This aircraft was the prototype that started it all...the first L-188 ever made. It was first flown on December 6th 1957.
At the time Lockheed had already received orders for 144 aircraft. It seemed they were set for a long production run, but they were destined to become second-best to the faster turbojet aircraft.
